Employee Allowance and Deductions

As a user I would like to be able to add a new allowance after editing an employees masterfile.
For example;
I enter edit mode in an employees masterfile, I update a field and then save (in this example ive added a date into a flexifield EMPFX6) - I then want to add an allowance, however, the option to add is greyed out.
Current process is to either exit masterfiles and then go back in; or, select edit against a current ALLDED record then save without actually editing.
